LAUNCH OF A UK-FIRST IN MANUFACTURING

A £1 million Newhaven venture, the first of its kind in the UK, is set for a high profile launch next month.

Enterprise Works is the UK's first privately funded organisation set up specifically to help budding manufacturing companies to prosper by providing comprehensive mentoring and administrative services in rent free space.  Mrs Phyllida Stewart-Roberts OBE, Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex will formally launch the incubation centre on 2^nd March.

Every company that joins Enterprise Works will have an experienced director working with them as a business mentor, helping to accelerate their growth and development.

"What we are doing is unique," says Hugh Burnett, Chairman of Enterprise Works. "We are providing brilliant business mentoring services plus a raft of in-house support to deal with all the administration and bureaucracy that can consume so much time when a business is growing. We enable client companies to focus on what they do best - manufacturing products."

 "Enterprise Works will not make a profit," explained Mr Burnett, "however that does not mean that client companies will get an easy ride. We want to see success and will push hard for that to happen."

Enterprise Works provides client companies with administrative support that includes IT and secretarial services, business planning, accountancy and equipment maintenance. Client companies will share the running costs of the factory.

"This represents a fantastic opportunity for small manufacturing businesses," says Mr Burnett. "We can be of enormous help to small companies ready for the next stage of growth."

Enterprise Works operates from a 22,000 sq ft freehold factory in the heart of Newhaven, East Sussex where it is committed to helping the regeneration of the town by creating employment and using other local businesses for support and supplies.

The launch event is open to special guests, the media and entrepreneurs with a recently established manufacturing business or with a business plan that demonstrates they have the energy and ambition to grow quickly.
