Statistically, five out of six new start businesses fail in their first few years. Our objective is to achieve five successes out of every six companies that join us.

Newhaven is a small industrial enclave under the Sussex Downs in an area benefiting
from real economic regeneration.

Recent initiatives have:

• Restarted the port and ferry service to Dieppe
• Established a state of the art business and training centre
• Revitalised the fishing industry
• Developed new housing in a community on the West Quay

WHAT WE DO

Enterprise Works is different. We know that in start up phase, businesses have to concentrate on cash flow. So, we become very involved with our clients and set out to help them to achieve this by ensuring that they can maximise the time spent on generating income.
Enterprise Works owns and manages 22,000 square feet of good quality refurbished factory space in Newhaven. This is for manufacturing companies who are in the early stages of development.

Also, Enterprise Works have commissioned a number of fully equipped small and medium sized kitchen units to full BRC Standards for rent by the day, the week, or as required. A real opportunity for small food producers.

Enterprise Works aims to help all its client companies succeed and does this by providing:

• Rent free factory space, with free use of facilities (meeting rooms, first aid room, catering point, parking, 24/7 access)
• There is no cost for space occupied, but businesses share in the running costs of the unit on an equal basis. But we realise that in some instances even these modest costs may be hard to bear and in these circumstances we will do our best to help.
• Light and heat, power and compressed air, dust and waste extraction and removal.
• Administration, full accountancy services and payroll, health and safety management and equipment maintenance as required.
• IT infrastructure (Internal network with Broadband access).
• Tailored support for individual clients, including an independent experienced business mentor.
• An environment designed to encourage manufacturing ventures to work alongside and support each other.
